Loopmasters’ latest release extends the Origin series to include a wide selection of percussion loops ranging in tempo from 60-160BPM and taking in styles from Latin America, Africa, India and even Egypt. Alongside this you’ll find over 1,200 ‘single-hit’ sounds from instruments such as shakers, gongs, talking drums, djembes, tablas, bodhrans and so on These are grouped and numbered for easy mapping, and include a good selection of atmospheric sounds.



In truth, there’s little material here that hasn’t appeared in other collections, but that takes nothing away from the quality of the playing or the samples.



The 2,500+ samples featured on the CD break down into 550 REX2 loops, 1,300 single-hit sounds and 650 .WAV files. Like other titles in the Origin series, little use has been made of effects and EQ, so what you’re hearing is as close to the natural instruments as it’s possible to get.
