Although the blurb on the back of the CD case states that his is a nu skool hip hop collection, thereｹs a distinctly old skool feel to the tone of the drum loops, though this is offset by the fact that plenty of them do sound pretty contemporary in rhythmic terms.



The scratches are decent enough, though the basslines, while they're passable, do feel a little 恵y the numbers' - particularly the synth offerings. There are some usable stabs and dark atmospheric pads, while the extensive Rhodes section has a jazz tinge to it. In fact, this section seems almost disproportionately large; a few guitars in place of some of the Rhodes samples wouldn't have gone amiss. Still, altogether this is solid stuff.
