Verdict: 8 out of 10

"We were keen to discover which strain of funk this triple disc set would cover, but the truth is that it straddles the genre and offers a little bit of everything. Some of the slower beats have a hip hop/soul feel to them, while the guitars are predictably of the choppy wah-wah variety in the main. We liked the 60s funk style basses - and the stabs and brass licks are tasty too. The swirling Rhodes seem a little chilled compared to the rest, but the vocals could almost have been recorded by James Brown himself, and they complete another impressive set."
