For Windows

1.Install "Piapro Studio" / "Mutant"

Extract (unzip) the compressed file of the downloaded installer to an arbitrary location.

In the folder created by unzipping, you will find installers for Piapro Studio and Mutant VSTi. Run "setup.exe" in the "Crypton Software Installer (64bit)" folder to start the installation.

What is Mutant VSTi?

Mutant VSTi" is a VSTi version of "Mutant" software for sound material management. Please have a look at this page for more details

About SONICWIRE Bonus Sample

When "Mutant VSTi" is installed, "SONICWIRE Bonus Samples" extracted from the sound material collection (sample pack) for music production distributed by "SONICWIRE" will be installed in the "soundroot" folder directly under the C drive.

Installation Procedure

When "setup.exe" is started, a language selection screen will appear. Select "English" and click the "OK" button.
On the "Crytpon Software Installer 64bit" screen, check both "Piapro Studio" and "Mutant VSTi" and click the "Install" button.
On the "Piapro Studio End User License Agreement" screen, confirm the contents of the license agreement. Check the "I accept the terms in the License Agreement" checkbox and click the "Install" button to start the installation.
Click the "Finish" button on the "Completed the Piapro Studio VSTi x64 Setup Wizard" screen.
Click the "OK" button on the "Complete install Piapro Studio VSTi x64" screen to complete the Piapro Studio installation.
The "Mutant VSTi" installer screen will then appear. Install "Mutant VSTi" in the same way as steps 3-5.
Click the "OK" button on the "Crypton Software installed successfully!" screen to complete the installation.

Proceed to "2. Install Voice Library" below.

2. Install Voice Library

The audio library ("Hatsune Miku V4X" etc.) can be installed from the installer "setup.exe" located in each of the following folders. Start the installer and proceed with the installation according to the following procedure.

Installer Folder Name for the Voice Library

HATSUNE MIKU V4X：
MIKU V4X Installer / MIKU V4 English Installer (Only if English library is included)
KAGAMINE RIN/LEN V4X：
RINLEN V4X Installer / RINLEN V4 English Installer (Only if English library is included)
MEGURINE LUKA V4X：
MEGURINE LUKA V4X Installer

The following procedure is for "Hatsune Miku V4X" as an example, but other V4X products can be installed in the same way.

Language Select Screen
Select "英語 (English)" and click the "OK" button.

Click the "Next" button.
"License Agreement" Screen
On the "Piapro Studio End User License Agreement" screen, confirm the contents of the license agreement. Check the "I accept the terms in the License Agreement" checkbox and click the "Install" button to start the installation.
"Setup Type" Screen
Click the [Next] button with "Complete" selected.
"Ready to Install the Program" Screen
Click the [Install] button to start the installation.
"InstallShield Wizard Complete" Screen
Click the [Finish] button to complete the installation.

For Those who Purchased Bundled Products

Follow the same procedure as above to install the ENGLISH audio library as well.

Proceed to "3. Update VOCALOID API" below.

3. Update VOCALOID API

Download the latest VOCALOID API from the following page, unzip and install.

Once the above installation is done, proceed to "4. Activate Voice Library" below.

4. Activate Voice Library

To use the voice library (such as "Hatsune Miku V4X"), please follow the procedure below for activation. You can use the demo version for a certain period of time without activation, but please complete the activation as soon as possible.

* An Internet connection is required for activation.

Run "Activate" Software

In Windows 7: Click the [Start] button on the lower left of the desktop screen, click [All Programs], click [VOCALOID4], and then click [Activate4].

Windows 8 or later: Click the [Start] button in the lower left corner of the desktop screen, click [Apps], and then click [Activate4] in VOCALOID4.
"Select Language" Screen

Select "English (English)" and click the [OK] button.
"Online Activation - Activate4" Screen

Select the device you wish to use for activation, enter the serial code, and then click the [Next] button. Please note that if you remove or replace the device after activation, you will need to re-activate it.

If you purchased a bundle product, serial codes are provided for each of the Japanese and English audio libraries. Enter the serial code corresponding to the audio library you wish to activate.
"Components to be activated" Screen

Confirm that the library of serial codes you entered is displayed and click the "Next" button.
"Successful - Activate4" Screen

Click the "OK" button to complete activation.

This completes the installation and activation of Piapro Studio and the audio library. If you are using the DAW software "Cubase LE" or "Studio One Artist" (only for users who purchased before June 2024) that comes with the product, follow the instructions in the guide below to install the software.

■Cubase LE (Only for users who purchased after July 2024)

■Studio One Artist (Only for users who purchased before June 2024)

For macOS

1. Install "Piapro Studio"

Extract (unzip) the compressed file of the downloaded installer to an arbitrary location.

To install "Piapro Studio," start "Piapro Studio Installer.pkg" in the folder generated by the unzip. The installation procedure is as follows:

"Welcome to Piapro Studio Installer" Screen

Click the "Continue" button.
"Software License Agreement" Screen

You can confirm the contents of the license agreement. After confirming the contents, click the "Continue" button, followed by the "Agree" button.
"Select the Destination" Screen

Normally, click "Continue" to continue the installation.
"The installation was completed successfully" Screen

Click the "Close" button to complete the installation of "Piapro Studio".

Proceed to "2. Install Voice Library" below.

2. Install Voice Library

To install "Piapro Studio," start "Piapro Studio Installer.pkg" in the folder generated by the unzip. The installation procedure is as follows.

HATSUNE MIKU V4X BUNDLE:

Run the Installer

Double-click "VOCALOID4 Library HATSUNE MIKU V4X.dmg" to mount it, and double-click "MIKU_V4X_Installer.pkg" in it to start the installer.

Click the "Continue" button.
"Software License Agreement" Screen

You can confirm the contents of the license agreement. After confirming the contents, click the "Continue" button, followed by the "Agree" button.
"Select the Destination" Screen

Normally, click "Continue" to continue the installation.
"The installation was completed successfully" Screen

Click the "Close" button to complete the installation of "HATSUNE MIKU V4X".

For Those who Purchased Bundled Products

3. Update VOCALOID API

Download the latest VOCALOID API from the following page, unzip and install.

Once the above installation is done, proceed to "4. Activate Voice Library" below.

4. Activate Voice Library

Run the "VOCALOID License Manager" software

In Finder, click "Applications" -> "VOCALOID" -> "VOCALOID License Manager".
Select Language" Screen

Select "English" and click the "Next" button.

Select "Activate product." and click the "Next" button.
Check Internet Connection

Select "This computer has an Internet connection" and click the "Next" button. If your computer is not connected to the Internet, you can also perform offline activation. For detailed instructions, see the "Offline Activation Guide" (PDF) in the folder generated by the unzip.
"Online Activation" Screen

Enter the serial code and click the "Next" button. If you purchased a bundle product, serial codes are provided for both the Japanese and English audio libraries. Enter the serial code corresponding to the audio library you wish to activate.
"Components to be activated" Screen

Confirm that the library of serial codes you entered is displayed and click the [Next] button.

If "Error (2)" is Displayed During Authentication

If an "Error (2)" error occurs during authentication, download and install the latest "VOCALOID License Manager" from the YAMAHA website and try authentication again.

"Activation Success" Screen

Click the [OK] button to complete activation.
Restart Mac

Restart macOS to make the voice library available.

This completes the installation and activation of Piapro Studio and the audio library. If you are using the DAW software "Cubase LE" or "Studio One Artist" (only for users who purchased before June 2024) that comes with the product, follow the instructions in the guide below to install the software.

Support Information

About Product Serial Codes

Please keep the serial code in a safe place, as it will be required when reinstalling the software. Serial codes cannot be reissued under any circumstances.

If Activation Fails

If activation fails, check your Internet connection, LAN card installation status, and serial code. Enter the serial code in upper case one-byte alphanumeric characters. Also, make sure you have not entered the serial code of another VOCALOID product. If a network error occurs even though you are connected to the Internet, it may be due to resident software. In addition to Internet security and anti-virus software, utility software for the mouse and trackball may also prevent proper activation. Please temporarily stop/disable all resident software before activation.

How to Uninstall

If you wish to reinstall "Piapro Studio", "Mutant VSTi", or voice libraries (such as "Hatsune Miku V4X"), you can do so in advance by going to the Windows Settings application -> "Applications" -> "Apps and Features", or on macOS, go to the Finder -> "Applications" -> " VOCALOID" -> "Uninstaller" -> "VOCALOID4" and uninstall all installed voice libraries from the files in "VOCALOID".

How to Deactivate

If you uninstall the voice library, install a new OS, replace the internal hard disk or LAN card, or buy a new computer, deactivate all installed voice libraries beforehand using the "Vocaloid Deactivation Tool" (Windows only) or the "VOCALOID License Manager" (macOS only) to deactivate ALL installed voice libraries.
